Hand-spun Surprise

A kind friend made my day by gifting me this fabulous hand-spun yarn  this week – the photos don’t do it justice!

It is merino and silk, and appears to be an aran weight, although I’ll only know for sure when I do a tension square or swatch. The skein weighs 75g and I estimate the meterage as 120 metres. The slightly rustic texture means it will be perfect for mitts or a hat … Ravelry here I come!

I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Wishing you a lovely week 😀

Oh that is perfect for you, beautiful yarn in such a pretty colourway!
It says hat to me as the weather cools significantly, maybe an Alpine one? Have you looked at Mandarine’s hats? There’s one with trees that might work! Or something with a mountain-range irregular zigzag using knit/purl or travelling stitches? Have fun choosing!
