Yes, I took my sock knitting on a recent family day out on the Severn Valley Railway … A train journey just wouldn’t be the same without my yarn, and a steam train has a special rhythm that suits knitting so well!
The Severn Valley Railway is a full-size standard-gauge railway line, running regular, mainly steam-hauled, passenger trains between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a distance of approximately sixteen miles. It is largely run by volunteers, and has been a tourist attraction for over 50 years, offering nostalgic trips on vintage carriages, accompanied by the evocative sound of the steam engine as it travels through the countryside.
