Following my recent visit to Sarehole Mill, I was inspired to make a hat … or 2!
First onto the needles was this child’s beanie with a big pompom …
It is made with Drops Nepal, a wool-alpaca mix, which is soft and warm. A little bit of fairisle patterning made it more interesting to knit.
The hat-making urge was not completely satisfied, so I cast on a baby hat for a quick additional project …
This is made from Patons DK baby wool – the fairisle effect on this one is all down to the self-patterning yarn. Thanks to Cathy for pointing me in the direction of this cute pattern by @lovefibres 🙂
Do you like knitting hats? What’s your favourite hat pattern? I’d love to know!
