Yarn in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer Charity

During my recent visit to Wonderwool Wales, I met talented silversmith Lyn who had dedicated the majority of her stand to an attractive display of deep turquoise yarn and accompanying sample designs, from which all the proceeds were going to charity.

It goes without saying that I wanted to know more.

Lyn is raising awareness and funds for Target Ovarian Cancer, including her special range of yarn in support of the Time for Teal campaign. Haven’t heard of it? No, neither had I.

So may I introduce you to it? Please spread the word – it could help save a life.

Better still, contact Lyn and treat yourself or a friend to some gorgeous yarn while helping to raise funds! She also has pretty sets of stitch markers which include the teal ribbon logo.

Her kits and patterns are based on either 100 g of sock-weight 80% Blue Faced Leicester 20% Bamboo blend, with a choice of specially designed patterns (sock, hat, tea cosy and shawlette), or 150g of 5-ply sport weight 55% Blue Faced Leicester 45% Silk, with a larger shawl pattern. You can of course use the yarn for other patterns if you wish. The sheen and softness of the BFL/silk mix sold it to me 🙂

Lyn also has a gorgeous dog bandana pattern, modelled here by the lovely Indy!

For more information about the kits, yarn, or patterns, or to purchase by mail order, please contact Lyn via her website or leave me a comment and I will do my best to help. For more information about the charity or the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer, or if you wish to make a donation to support the charity’s work, please visit the Target Ovarian Cancer website.

Lyn and I are currently organising 2 special events to raise more funds – if you are in Pembrokeshire or Worcestershire in June, watch this space!

Do you knit or crochet for charity? I’d love to hear all about it! 🙂

Ooh, I would do a tea-cosy or a dog bandana… Lyn’s website doesn’t seem to mention any of this? (I loved my BFL so much I just bought some more, so more than happy for an excuse to support a cause with it!!)

Coincidentally, I just bought bed-covers with this teal/cream check lol :o!! And lately have had a lot of other teal things… serendipity?!

    Oh, and happy holidays ❤

Yes, you’re right – Lyn isn’t selling the yarn and patterns on her website, but can be contacted via it and she can send orders by post. Or I could let her have your email address if that would help? I’d be happy to be your UK address and arrange a handover at some point 😀 Thank you for your support 😀 x.
p.s. The tablecloth was in the holiday let – a lovely coincidence (and I would have loved to have brought it home with me!) 🙂
