Friday F.O. – more socks!

Oh, I do like a completed project!

It doesn’t matter how large or small, complicated or simple.

Those final finishing touches are very satisfying.

This week I finished these socks. As you can see, I’ve gone for the ‘familial’ look, rather than trying to get the self-patterning yarn to match on each sock. I quite like the random colour placement – surprising really, because generally I’m not very good at ‘random’!

Do you attempt to get your self-striping socks to match, or do you just see what happens? Β I’d love to know!

I have a striped pair that I matched almost perfectly and I have another where I just did the random. I like both ways πŸ™‚

I love the random – and not having to think about it! I hope you realise I’m going to send you all my UFOs to finish – clear a space in the spare room!!

I believe some manufacturers are now marking the middle of the yarn, so that crafters can identify the exact start of the repeat, to make identically patterned socks πŸ˜‰ I haven’t tried it out yet … I’ll watch out for some and will report back!

I’m usually too lazy to worry too much about matching socks though I have made the effort once or twice… What a pretty colourway this is – I do like pink and yellow together! Very springlike.
