This four-legged friend held up the traffic in the Hardwick Hall estate, insisting on licking the cars as they passed by – do you have any idea why?
It made me smile and gave me my unexpected knitting thought of the day … very pretty fleece!
What has made you think of knitting today? I’d love to know!
🙂
You-know-who’s spontaneous reply – kissing the cars baa-bye?! Or doing an MOT – mutton-on-touch… And finally, is it Ram-brandt?! ;O
(and really, I think it probably needs a salt-lick, which is why it likes the dried splashes on the cars!)

Tee-hee 🙂 Clever word-play! I like it! And it makes sense about the salt too … Thanks! 🙂

Did you know that we are descended from the Hardwicks (my great-grandmother)? Probably more likely to be from a Hardwick serf than a Hardwick lord, though! Very pretty goat – can he tell the brand of car from the taste?

I think you mentioned it on your blog at one point, but I hadn’t put 2 and 2 together until I mentioned to M that I had been there – it’s an impressive estate and it must be amazing to think of your ancestors going about their daily lives there. One thing we can be sure of …. Their sheep didn’t lick passing cars 😉
