Knitting my own comfort blanket

What I really mean is …

Knitting IS my comfort blanket.

(The photo shows the current status of my Hap Blanket by Ysolda Teague, worked to a loose tension/gauge in a self-patterning yarn, Drops Big Fabel Print, on 9 mm needles)

Some people reach for a cigarette. Others reach for alcohol. Some head for the gym or go jogging.

Me?

It’s knitting that helps soothe my jangling nerves at the end of a tough day. Even just a few stitches can make all the difference – a speed dial to calm.

It’s magic!

Does knitting/crochet cast its spell on you too?

I’d love to know! 🙂

  1. Both knitting and crochet calm me. I’m never just sitting without some kind of yarn in my lap. Soothes the soul!

Oh, often! Sometimes I just have to go and knit a few rows to settle my frazzled mind and remember what else needs doing… other times it’s the knitting that frazzles me!!!
