Now you see it …
Now you don’t!
Sometimes you just have to face it – it’s time to give up on that neglected project. So what happened?
I bought this wool at a lovely yarn shop called Colourway in Whitland, Wales, on my way home from holiday last year. The yarn is Debbie Bliss Rialto 4 ply Extra Fine Merino wool, and is beautifully soft and light, promising to be a useful layer.
I cast on Selda by Sarah Hatton, a pattern I have used before, and which seemed to meet my criteria. I powered through the back section, including the never-ending stocking stitch. Then I lost momentum on the first front. Something wasn’t right. I just wasn’t ‘feeling the love’. So it went into hibernation for a while – perhaps I would feel differently about it in a few weeks?
No, time didn’t change my reaction to it … with mixed feelings, I took the plunge and unravelled the whole thing. Hours of knitting undone in a matter of minutes!
My Ravelry page has been updated – the project is now officially ‘frogged’ – and the wool has gone back into my stash. Ready for a new destination!
Have you changed your mind about a knitting project recently? What did you decide to do about it? I’d love to know!
It’s obviously catching!

Oh-oh, I’ve seen that one, it did a bit of travelling, didn’t it?! 😮 But I know exactly what you mean, sometimes you just don’t feel the love for something. I’ve got a cardigan on the go like that and somehow, it’s not growing its sleeves the way it should…
So, what’s it going to be??!!
